About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified General Practitioner, with an interest in research, to work in a multidisciplinary team comprising clinicians, epidemiologists, statisticians, psychologists and social scientists. The University of Leicester was ranked in the Research Excellence Framework (REF2021) as 2nd for Clinical Medicine (UoA1), with 95% of our submission ranked world-leading (4-star) or internationally excellent (3-star). The Leicester Diabetes Centre forms one of the largest facilities in Europe for conducting first class clinical research in diabetes and obesity. Scientific effort is focused on applied and translational research under three main clinical programmes: diabetes; cardiovascular disease; and health services research. It also has expertise in clinical trials, ethnic health and analysis of routine datasets.

About you

You will contribute primary care knowledge and expertise to the range of studies within these research programmes delivering the NIHR Applied Research and Care (ARC) East Midlands. You will play a major role in developing and leading of a programme of work the area of multimorbidity.
