NIHR ARC East Midlands organises its work into five focused research themes. Each theme tackles a distinct set of health and care challenges, working closely with communities, NHS partners and national bodies to conduct research that can be put to real use.
Identified with patients and the public, our themes span priority areas across the East Midlands. They align with national priorities including the NHS Long Term Plan, the government's 10-Year Health Plan and the Darzi Report.
Our themes
- Data4Health
- Building Resilience in Later Life
- Multiple Long-term Conditions
- Ethnicity and Health Inequalities
- Translating and Implementing Research
How our themes work together
Data4Health, Ethnicity and Health Inequalities and Translation and Implementation Research are cross-cutting themes. They provide methodological expertise and support to all other themes, as well as conducting their own research programmes.
All five themes embed patient and public involvement and research inclusion from the outset and work with our Knowledge Mobilisation team to ensure findings reach the people and services that need them.
