EMRAN events

EMRAN hosts a range of events to share research findings, explore priorities and connect people working in healthy ageing research across the East Midlands.

Our events include:

  • Community of practice themed seminars covering research presentations, priority discussions, methods and categorising projects.
  • Interactive workshops including idea labs, grant development sessions and breakout discussions.
  • An annual in-person showcase to present findings and discuss key research priorities.

Past topics have included improving physical functioning and quality of life in older people with frailty and heart failure, oral health in care homes, and behavioural interventions for pain management in older people.

What our members told us

Following our March 2026 event, members told us they want events that bridge research and real-world practice, with less theory and more focus on impact and application.

There was strong interest in connecting research with policy and frontline care, and in creating opportunities for researchers to consult directly with practitioners and members of the public.
