We would like to congratulate Serena Cox for passing her PhD viva, funded by ARC East Midlands.

Serena’s PhD explored women’s experiences of participating in online support communities following a traumatic birth.

Serena is currently working as a midwife in Nottingham and focusing on publishing her findings. She hopes to apply for more research funding in the near future to undertake further research in this area.

Speaking about her achievements, Serena said: “I have really loved doing my PhD and I definitely could not have done it without the funding from ARC, so thank you. The additional opportunities and experiences I have had with the NIHR during my studentship have also been invaluable to my development as a clinical academic researcher.”
