Podcast episode 4 cover

Expert guest Dr Hannah Young, a Specialist Renal Research Physiotherapist at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, shares insights from her recent scoping review and discusses the powerful benefits of movement-based programmes, as well as the practical challenges healthcare providers face when implementing these types of interventions.

Dr Young, who is also an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Leicester and an NIHR Advanced Research Fellow, said:

"Physical activity is absolutely crucial for this patient population, but we know there are significant challenges when it comes to implementing and sustaining these types of interventions within the healthcare system. Overcoming these barriers is essential if we want to empower this patient group to stay active and engaged in improving their own health and wellbeing."

The episode also delves into the vital, yet often overlooked, role that caregivers play in supporting patients to stay physically active.
