ARC East Midlands is seeking passionate individuals to join our team in two vital PPIE roles that will directly shape the direction and impact of our research.

Why get involved?

In research, PPIE means involving people as partners throughout the entire research process, not just as participants. This ensures the patient, carer, and public voice is central to the research agenda.

Your involvement will help make our research more relevant, accessible and impactful for the communities we serve. As a PPIE Representative, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide a patient, carer or public perspective that helps shape the direction and impact of our health and care research
  • Review research proposals and documents to ensure the needs and experiences of diverse communities are represented
  • Represent the views and experiences of your community or patient group
  • Help share our research findings with diverse audiences

What's in it for you?

This role offers valuable professional development, including:

  • Learning more about the role of PPIE in health and care research
  • Gaining insight into the research process and how it can drive change in services
  • Sharing your own views and opinions and those of your community
  • Building relationships with leading healthcare professionals and researchers

How to apply

We are recruiting for two PPIE representative roles:

1 - Scientific Committee

The Scientific Committee provides assurance to the ARC East Midlands Governance Board, Executive Board, NIHR and partners that the funded projects are consistent with the ARC's aims, are of sufficient scientific quality, and feasible. Your role will be to review proposals and provide a patient/public perspective.

2 - Community Voices Panel

The Community Voices Panel provides ongoing advice to ensure diverse views influence the ARC's research. We are seeking passionate individuals from the East Midlands who can offer their time, skills, and lived experiences to help shape health and care research.
