About the opportunity
This studentship sits within our Building Resilience in Later Life (BRILL) theme, and we are particularly keen to receive proposals focused on ageing well through prevention, rehabilitation, and long-term community care. ARC East Midlands has specialist expertise in falls prevention, physical activity, frailty, and rehabilitation.
Proposed projects must align with our applied research priorities and address at least one of the Department of Health and Social Care's three shifts: hospital to community, analogue to digital, or treatment to prevention.
Funding
The award covers University of Nottingham registration fees (home rate: £5,238) and an annual tax-free stipend at the UKRI rate of approximately £21,805 (full time). Part-time applicants are funded at 50% pro-rata over six years.
A contribution of £3,000 towards training and research costs is also included.
Who can apply?
Applicants should hold a 2.1 or above at undergraduate level. Applications are particularly encouraged from nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, pharmacists, healthcare scientists, social workers, and registered public health professionals.
International applicants are welcome but will need to fund any shortfall in fees from alternative sources.
