The latest episode of the Chronic Conversations podcast delves into the impact of multiple long-term conditions (MLTCs) on ethnic minority populations.

Joining the discussion is Professor Kamlesh Khunti, Director of the NIHR ARC East Midlands and a leading expert in this field. Professor Khunti provides invaluable insights on the disproportionate impact of MLTCs on these communities, as well as the challenges and research priorities in this crucial area.

Professor Khunti, who is a Professor of Primary Care Diabetes and Vascular Medicine at the University of Leicester, said: “While the impact of MLTCs on ethnic minority populations is deeply concerning - with poorer quality of life, higher morbidity, and earlier mortality - I'm encouraged by the important research underway to better understand and address these disparities.

“Through our key initiatives, such as the NIHR Global Health Research Centre for MLTC and Cross-NIHR collaboration on MLTC, we have a real opportunity to drive transformational change”.
