What we are doing?
Our research team has created a short online survey to understand the global impact of COVID-19 on care for patients with long-term conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, depression, chronic kidney disease.
Why we are doing it?
Before the outbreak of COVID-19, there was already a major epidemic of those living with long-term diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma, cancer, chronic kidney disease, or depression; and in more cases people living with two or more chronic diseases known as multimorbidity. There are currently no cures for long-term diseases, and people have to manage their conditions through medication, treatment, lifestyle changes, and through the guidance from healthcare professionals. However, with the new pandemic of COVID-19 has led people to mainly focus on COVID-19, with less resources available for those managing chronic diseases. This short online “#GlobalViews_COVID19 Survey” therefore aims to find out the impact of COVID-19 on the care for individuals living with chronic diseases.
Who is the target audience?
The survey is to be filled out by healthcare professional, i.e. a primary care Doctor, hospital Doctor, nurse.
What the benefits will be?
The benefit of this survey is to help understand what impact COVID-19 is having on patients with long-term conditions, and identify the most common conditions that are being affected because of the reduction in care.
