
Professor Sayal, who is Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Nottingham and an Honorary Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, leads the Children and Young People Mental Health & Wellbeing research group at the Institute of Mental Health.
He is also the Principal Investigator on the 'Far Away from Home' study funded by ARC East Midlands, and an Editor of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) journal.
His research focuses on improving mental health outcomes for children and young people in community, school, and clinical settings.
NIHR Senior Investigators are among the most prominent and prestigious researchers funded by the NIHR, recognised for their outstanding leadership within the research community. This reappointment is a testament to Professor Sayal's continued excellence in child and adolescent mental health services research.
