The NIHR ARC East Midlands is pleased to announce dedicated pre-application support fellowship awards aimed at individuals seeking to advance their research-focused careers. These fellowships provide funded time to develop a competitive NIHR career development award application.

Fellowship details

  • Award amount: Up to £25,000 each
  • Number of awards: 2
  • Purpose: To buy out an individual’s time for preparing a high-quality, competitive NIHR application.

Eligibility criteria

Applications are especially encouraged from individuals who are:

  • Health and care professionals (nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, pharmacists and healthcare scientists)
  • Social care, social work and public health professionals
  • Researchers in methodology
  • Applicants from other groups identified as under-represented within the NIHR

Applications cannot be accepted from individuals who currently hold a NIHR or HEE award or who have previously applied for this funding.
