Falls Management Exercise (FaME) Implementation Toolkit

The Falls Management Exercise (FaME) programme is an evidence-based, tailored exercise programme designed to help adults aged 65 and over improve strength, balance, and reduce falls.

Recommended by the 2025 NICE guidelines as an effective falls prevention intervention, the updated FaME Implementation Toolkit supports commissioners and providers to set up and deliver the programme successfully, ensuring best practice and positive outcomes.

The toolkit includes resources such as:

  • Business case templates
  • Service specifications
  • Promotional materials
  • Videos
  • Guidance based on the latest research and real-world experiences

The toolkit, originally developed by NIHR CLAHRC East Midlands (former organisation of NIHR ARC East Midlands), and collaborating partners, is now maintained by Later Life Training. It is designed to be flexible, allowing local adaptation, and will be regularly updated.
