East Midlands' Clinical Academic Careers

The East Midlands is a great place to be a non-medical Clinical Academic – together with colleagues from Universities and NHS Trusts, we work hard to support nurse, midwife and allied health professional clinical academics (from those at the start of their journey, aspiring to become a clinical academic, through to those with an established role) and provide opportunities for their training and development.

There are a number of developmental opportunities available, from internships, to PhDs and postdoctoral awards. We also have the region’s first peer-network, the East Midlands Clinical Academic Practitioner Network, which is free to join and growing in numbers every day. The network currently has over 250 members.

ARC East Midlands chairs the East Midlands Clinical Academic Careers Advisory group, which brings together academics, practitioners, NIHR Training Advocates and R&D leads from across the East Midlands to ensure our work continues to develop and be the best that it can possibly be, in supporting and growing clinical academic careers across the region.

If you’d like to know more about our work in this area, please email ARC’s Training Lead, Dr Emma Rowley (Emma.Rowley@nottingham.ac.uk).
